Congratulations Becky

Congratulations to my niece Becky Simmonds Sherwood who has given birth to twin babies as a surrogate mom. We are very lucky in our family to have three wonderful girls who have given this gift to many couples who otherwise wouldn't have children.

My Father's health

My father has shingles. Originally we were told he had shingles in the eye by the doctor at Heidehof ,which is the home they live at. However he was sent to the hospital and the incredibly rude Doctor there said he didn't have shingles but made a appointment at a opthalmologist in Welland for Friday. Loretto took him to the appointment. The eye doctor said he had shingles of the eye lid but not the eye itself. He is not contagious but he will be in a lot of pain for three or four weeks. He is back at heidehof with my mom. So again, please encourage your parents to come down to visit them.

The Ride to Conquer Cancer

This picture was taken shortly after I crossed the finish line in The Ride To Conquer Cancer. It was a 2 day ride from Vancouver to Seattle , approx 265 km. With me in the picture is Ann and Kiana as well as Daisy , Rachel and Kelly Landrigan. The picture was taken on Fathers Day which was fitting because Rachel and Kelly's Dad , Rob Landrigan was my inspiration for doing the ride.He died from Colon cancer a year ago last Feb.It was the girls second Fathers Day without him.My reason for posting this is , as we all know too well , with Nikki and Michelle as our closest example , Cancer affects us all. Here in B.C. , 1 in 3 will be affected. Ive signed up again for next years ride and Im putting a team together.Im calling it "The Rap Team " ( Robbie's Ass Peddlers). In these economic times it tough to have "extra money" to give to charities ,but that doesn't apply to everyone. If you can , please help me reach my goal of $15.000.00. It seems like a huge amount ...

More of the Ford Family in Toronto

Hi folks, I finally took the pictures off of my camera and thought i'd post some more shots from our dinner with Colleen in T.O. Incidentally, the verging-on-chubby guy with the thick-rimmed glasses is in fact Elvis Costello. I couldn't make the dinner so he went instead. Sadly, I'm not sure anyone noticed. Except Debbie, who knows very well that while Elvis and I may share similar tastes in eyewear, we still have distinctly different earlobes. love pat.
