Christmas

My Dads 85th

As mentioned earlier, tomorrow, December 17 will be my Dads 85th birthday. If any of you wish to call him (which he would be thrilled by) his number is 905-938-5749. I should let you know though that although the doctor is quite certain he does not have Alzheimers he has had some major short term memory problems lately. Love to all, Loretto
I dropped into Uncle Rudy and Aunt Noras place today (Tues. 16/08) with my daughter Ellen. We had a really nice visit. Aunt Nora has a whole photo Album of Ford pictures of the 1930 and 40s, most of which i had never seen before. She is naturally very protective of these photos. I wish she has a scanner so we could get them onto the Blog. Aunt Nora gave me a copy of this article that was in the Hamilton Spectator at the time of the first big reunion in August of 1987. I hope the article is readable on the blog.

Some old photos

My wife Maureen and i started looking thru some old photos of my family for a calender for a birthday present for my fathers birthday. He turns 85 on the 17th Here are some of the best ones

Anne's Mom

Since we are on the topic of keeping people in our thoughts, please remember Anne's mother. Kevin called the other day and said that his mother in law had had a heart attack and was in the hospital but doing alright. Today she seems to have taken a turn and we are waiting for news. For those of you who have not met Anne's mom she is the corner stone of Anne's family who has taken ALL of us in with a running "Come visit me." on her lips whenever we leave. Yes even me. Now she is no longer just Anne's Mom but mom to many of us, Anne and her sister's just get first dibs.

Uncle Bernie Mathews

Hi All Keep Uncle Bernie in your prayers today. Aunt Jackie called my house today to say that he is in the hospital as he had a blood clot that travelled to his lung. He is apparently stable at this time. Maybe Debbie can fill us in as he recovers. Debbie please let him know that we are all thinking of him.

My fun night

I just got home after spending the evening with my parents, Uncle Bernie, Aunt Jackie and Aunt Mildred. I haven't laughed so much in a long time. What hoot they are!! Aunt Jackie was still as hospitable as ever while struggling with a very sore left arm. Aunt Mildred is a doll. They are both sooo sweet. The booze kept flowing so it proved to be even more fun. Good time for all! You can almost be sure that your name came up tonight...lol.

Pat - Growing a stache to save the boys

Hi Fam! During Movember (the month formerly known as November), I’m concentrating what little testosterone my mostly-hairless body can muster into the cultivation of one bad moustache. Of course I’m not just doing it to be stylish – I’m doing it to raise money for the fight against prostate cancer. And I need your support! To donate to my Mo you can either: Click this link https://mail.interpublic.com/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=https://www.movember.com/ca/donate/donate-details.php?action=sponsorlink%26rego=1499026%26country=ca and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account, or Write a cheque payable to the ‘Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada', referencing my Registration Number 1499026 and mailing it to: Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of CanadaAttn: Movember145 Front Street EastSuite 306Toronto Ontario M5A 1E3 Donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. Operation Red Friday - Lets keep it in Canada

A good friend of mine who is with HBC in Toronto told me Canada is going to have a day (November 29th?-the day (Friday)after the American Thanksgiving)called Operation Red Friday to compete with Black Friday in the States. Many Canadian retailers are already included and the sales are going to be incredible, such as an HD Flat screen TV - 40" for $399. He said that so far The Brick (who started this), Sears, HBC, Canadian Tire, Best Buy, Leons and others I can't remember are going to be involved. Like the states, the stores will really early and have specials during certain hours. Those of us that live in border cities who may have headed south on this day can now stay in Canada and spend your Christmas shopping money here. Happy Shopping!

Golf Tournie

So for those who were unaware, a freind of Kevin Ford's (the old guy not the young buck) was shot about a year ago while servicing a fireplace. Ed was unaware that the condo was a drug dealers and when he went in he was shot, along with Ed was another innocent person who lived across the hall. The owner of the condo some how escaped all harm. Kevin suggested a memorial tournament to Ed's widow and to Chris' mother (Chris being the young neighbour). It took awhile and a HUGE number of headaches (could drive a soul to drink) but it happened on the 26th of Sept. and raised $20,000 for the victims of crime. I'm sure Kevin will say something about this eventually and invite everyone out for next years round but right now I think he is just trying to catch up on work. Apparently he needs help, pity the fool who is trying to learn the ropes in a busy season. Don't tell him he done good because of that whole swollen ego thing making him IMPOSSIBLE to live with. Our secret..

A couple of 10 year olds

Well a happy birthday to my Caitlin and my niece Kendra. They are two days apart (and a few kilometres) with Kendra being the oldest. They see each other so rarely but get along sooo well. Happy Birthdays you two little song birds of our hearts. You little smiles upon the universe. You little... okay I'll stop now before I get all gushy.

Uncle Pat

Since we are on the subject of this handsome fella , I thought I would add this photo. Is he ever not smiling?Get well soon Pat!
