We need to show this photo to THOSE WHO CAME BEFORE US for more info.
What about a seance ? That way the folks in the picture can answer for themselves.
We can channel through Kathy, she used to do a great E.T..
I'm only responsible for knowing whose who several years before I was born not a hundred years before! I'm with Kathy. They have something to do with the O'Brien's. I'm wondering if that is the famous picture from the Corktown Pub.

Hi Kevin:
I am think that this picture was from the Brennan family. I will ask Dad and Mom but I think the gent with the mustache is Michael J. Brennan our Great Grandpa.
Love,
Loretto

Hi this is the picture from the pub. I remember Nance talking about it. I seem to remember the picture being of her father and family. My brother Pat should know who they are since this picture has held his attention since Frank was alive.

I don't know why but I think the large lady on the right side was our great granny.
No Brennan connection unless its the Hamilton Brennan clan who resided on Victoria Ave.

You are all no help at all except that it is confirmed these people are in fact dead.I got the picture from Uncle Johns stuff and I believe they were sent to him by Peter James Benninger da third. The pub I believe is a good bet.Who is Frank?PJB3 are you out there?
I know I'm the last person really to know any of this, but for some reason, I think Rob is right. I just didn't want to post my opinion and look stupid! My Grndma (Catherine) had either this same picture or one similar, and I think she told me that the heavy lady is my great-great grandmother, so that would make her you guys Great grandmother! I have to ask my dad if he knows for sure.

Thank you Christy for allowing me to go first and possibly look stupid.
Frank lived with Nance and Girly at 109 Victoria Ave. He was a bachelor and alot of fun for a kid to hang out with. Kevin you were one of his pall bearers I think. Do you remember a large garbage bin with "Frank's Disposal" written on it?
The picture hung to the right of the fireplace and the front window on Victoria Ave when my folks lived at 109.
We really should do the seance thing and channel Uncle John. Darn rude of him to leave this mystery behind. Get Bernie jr. to channel John he does great voices.
Kevin why are you blogging when you are supposed to be watching your kiddies play hockey/ringette?
I'm tellin' Anne.

Hi Folks
, I tried to get in here to answer at the time I saw the photo, but couldnt figure the blog out.I do know who all these people. Between my aunt Margaret and Nance, I heard all about who's who many times. This photograph was taken in 1888.
I just want to start by saying that the older woman in the picture is my great grandmother. She was my dads grandmother. Her name was Mary (McMahon)Sullivan and she was the mother of everyone in that picture. She was referred to by the family as "Ma" (same sound as ba like sheep say). She was married to James Sullivan. He died the year before the picture was taken.
Starting from left to right is my grandmother.Catherine Sullivan (Kitty)(later married John Ford our grandfather.). Next is my grandmothers brother Dan Sullivan (often referred to as Dude). He married Ellen Dwyer.Next sitting on arm of chair was my grandmothers sister,Mary Sullivan (Minnie) She was the mother of the Obrien family (I will write about all this later in Ancestors Heading)She married James O'Brien. Next to her was another sister Hannah Sullivan Broderick referred to as Nana. She was married to Michael Broderick. The last one was Margaret Sullivan. She died in 1890of TB 2 years after this photograph was taken . They knew she was dying and that was the reason for the photo.I will give more history later under another heading.

Bochsler Family Update

Last week I tried to "encourage" my family to post to this blog. I sent them all TERRIBLE pictures of themselves and threatened to post them here if they didn't post their own. Although they all responded soon enough to my threat, nobody has updated this blog yet. To be fair, this sort of thing is easier for me to do so I'll give a general update on the family. I won't post those nasty pictures just yet, because I'm sure there are some of me floating around and I don't want to start a war. You may remember there are 6 kids, in order of age: Mark, Colleen, Paul, David, Kathleen & Kevin. Hearing it listed like that reminds me of being called for dinner. :) Mom and Dad (Maureen and Al) are both in good health and living in that big house you remember in Ancaster. The house and property itself would look very different to many of you as my Dad's projects have really transformed the place. There are no more big willow trees (and no more treehouse!) :( ...

Remembering Sean

The remaining Barrys. This picture was taken at Sean's funeral. Sean's absence is definitely felt. The last time I saw Sean, was about a year ago, the end of March '06. My husband, Brian and I showed up unannounced at his place and he graciously entertained us. If he had other plans, he never mentioned them. My brother, Brian has a pub in Camrose, AB. Sean apparently would stop in daily and drink coffee, wanting to stay in touch. Brian had a new year's eve party a couple of month previous, so I asked Sean if he'd gone. He said no, he'd quit drinking and realized that a new years eve party would probably not be conducive to achieving his goals. He'd also recently quit smoking. I remember thinking that was a lot to give up all at once, but of course didn't want to say anything to discourage him. Sean also had a dream to buy himself all new camping gear and go on a camping trip. This he did at the end of the summer. After achieving his goals, his heart gave...
