Uncle Pat

My Dad told me that Uncle Pat is not well as he has been diagnosed with cancer. Dad didn't know what kind but felt that it was pretty serious. Maybe someone knows more facts and could fill us in. Lets keep him in our prayers.

Hi All
Dad has been diagnosed with typeB Non Hodgkin's lymphoma. We are told that it is the easiest type to treat. Dad needs more tests before a treatment plan can be decided on. Mom and Dad are doing as well as can be expected and keeping busy. We appreciate that everyone is concerned, but phone calls are very difficult just now while we are in a holding pattern. I'll post again as soon as we have more info. Please pray for us. Love all.

Hi All
Just a quick update- Dad had a MUGA? ex-ray of his heart yesterday and a biopsy on his neck today. The heart ex-ray was to see what level of treatment his heart is up to, and the biopsy was to see have another look at his cancer cells. Thurs. next week Dad has an appt with his oncologist to come up with a battle plan. He is home now, with a sore neck, but not feeling too badly.

Thanks for keeping us informed Laura, we're all keeping him in our prayers.

By the way, if he's feeling down I know a little ditty that might cheer him up.

It goes something like this:

There was a man called Michael Finnigan,
He grew whiskers on his chinigin.
Along came the wind and blew them in agin,
Poor old Michael Finnigan – Begin agen:

10 or 20 rounds of that and he'll be giddy...

Dad saw his oncologist today. He has diffuse large B cell lymphoma. It is the faster growing form, but also the easiest to treat. Dad starts chemo on Friday, the first treatment of six in a three week pattern. The doc says that the 1st treatment usually kills the cancer, but they like to continue to make sure that none was missed. Dad and Mom are relieved to have a plan and are in good spirits. I would post to the main page, but I don't know how.
Love to All

Hi Laura:
That sounds very positive for your Dad. We've all been praying for him. I just called my parents to let them know and they were relieved to hear that he can be treated. Give your parents our best.
Take care.
Love,
Deb

Bochsler Family Update

Last week I tried to "encourage" my family to post to this blog. I sent them all TERRIBLE pictures of themselves and threatened to post them here if they didn't post their own. Although they all responded soon enough to my threat, nobody has updated this blog yet. To be fair, this sort of thing is easier for me to do so I'll give a general update on the family. I won't post those nasty pictures just yet, because I'm sure there are some of me floating around and I don't want to start a war. You may remember there are 6 kids, in order of age: Mark, Colleen, Paul, David, Kathleen & Kevin. Hearing it listed like that reminds me of being called for dinner. :) Mom and Dad (Maureen and Al) are both in good health and living in that big house you remember in Ancaster. The house and property itself would look very different to many of you as my Dad's projects have really transformed the place. There are no more big willow trees (and no more treehouse!) :( ...
