I decided that I should contribute to the Ford family blog since I love you all so much. I have been looking back at some of the posts and it makes me think how lucky I am to be part of such a wonderful gang of people. I wish I could have spent more time with you all over the years. But here's to the future.
Here are some updates on the Ford (Beninger) family in Belleville,
Bruce and Louise - are busy as usual working and being amazing parents/grandparents to our large family. They have renovated a horrible kitchen to make it a dream kitchen any chef would appreciate.
Angela - is working hard being a great single mother to a wonderful 10 year old going on 30 little girl. (Kassidy if some of you don't know or remember) Kassidy is a very mature little girl who gets almost straight A's on all her report cards!
Shannon - is working at Wilkinson and Co. as an accountant. She spends a lot of her time spoiling her nieces and nephews when she isn't working. She is waiting for Mr. Right so she can start a family and be the great mother that we all know she will be. She is very content on her own however. Shannon is a pretty tough woman and doesn't settle for anything less than what she wants.
Jennifer - This is an exciting one! Jennifer just had a very beautiful baby boy 2 months ago. Logan James Lee Howard was born on Thanksgiving weekend surprising everyone since he was 3 weeks early! He was a healthy 6lbs 7oz. Jennifer is the great mother we all knew she would be. If you have ever heard the saying "good mothers have filthy ovens, sticky floors and happy kids" that would be a prime example of Jennifer. Jennifer truly enjoys being around children.
Lonnie (Jennifer's fiancé) is busy working in construction and adoring his wonderful little family. He is a hard worker sometimes working 12 hours each day for 5 days straight!
David - is now working for a company that moves heavy machines and equipment to Alberta for the oil industry. He travels a lot and misses his family but he is a good provider and spends his time at home with his fiancé and son.
Michelle - (David's fiancée) is almost finished hairdressing school. She works hard going to school and taking care of Aiden, their son when David is away working.
Aiden - is growing strong and fast. He has his father's sense of humour and doesn't miss a chance to make everyone around him fall down laughing. He had a bit of a hard time this summer. The family Dog bit his face and he had to have emergency surgery. He is healing very well and I'm sure that over time the scars will disappear.
Amanda - (me) is now working as a bookkeeper for a local construction company. I was a stay at home mother running a Professional Organizing business on the side but decided that after almost 4 years of being away from the working world it was time to go back. It was a challenge getting used to being away from my babies but it has been a great experience. I even started taking on a few bookkeeping clients from home!
My husband Jonathan is working at Black Diamond cheese but is considering going back to school next September.
Dorian - (9 years) is such a sweet boy. He's a good A-B student taking French immersion at the same school that my mother, aunt, uncle, myself and my sisters went to. He is sometimes mistaken to be much older than he is since he is so tall. He has the same size feet as me!
Our little Lily May is growing into a beautiful little lady. She is very petite but has a big attitude! (Not a bad one though) She will be 4 years old in March. She is very much a girl and loves ballet, coloring and music. (Just like mommy) But she’s not afraid to roll in the mud. She and I will be going to see the nutcracker ballet this year and plan to make it a tradition every Christmas.
Well there you have it. One thing that remains the same for all of us is that we miss Grandma terribly. She is on our minds everyday. She was so much more than a grandmother to us. Grandma devoted her lives to her children and grandchildren. I couldn't have asked for a better grandma.
I have included some recent photos of our family for everyone to see. I'll be sure to spend more time on here in the future. I hope everyone is well. We send our love from Belleville.
