Colleen Dean

This might seem hard to believe, but today is the 10th anniversary of my mother's death. Kathy placed a notice in today's Spectator and I've copied it here:

DEAN - Colleen Ten years. If time was measured by the heart, then you left us just a moment ago. Love, pieces of your heart.

It amazes me that so much time has passed already. I'm sure Kathy is still finding recipe's that mom clipped from the paper and promptly tucked away, never to be tested.

I think she'd be happy to know that we're in touch like this, though it'd take a special kind of magic to help her understand how we were doing it, and to assure her that blogging isn't a dirty word...

Pat could you image mom tring to figure out how to do this. There isn't enough kleenex for the tears we would shed from laughing with her trying to show her how to do this.
Kathy
p.s. She would be having the best time learning about everyone.

I don't know, given the struggle she had just operating the TV remote, I don't think it would've been fair to tax her with this blog business.

You'd have had to read it to her over the phone...

Mom would not need a computer to keep up on everyone. She would have told us what everyone else was up to. Mom would freak me out letting me know the minutest detail of ...EVERYONE. The CIA could take a few notes on information gathering from our venerable aunts and uncles.
I can't believe it's been 10 years since Aunt Colleen passed away. I have great memories of her. She was always good to me AND funny. She reminded me alot of my Grandma Catherine. Poor Grandma doesn't even remember the great family she has. If she was in her right mind, she would be so glad everyone is talking like this!

Bochsler Family Update

Last week I tried to "encourage" my family to post to this blog. I sent them all TERRIBLE pictures of themselves and threatened to post them here if they didn't post their own. Although they all responded soon enough to my threat, nobody has updated this blog yet. To be fair, this sort of thing is easier for me to do so I'll give a general update on the family. I won't post those nasty pictures just yet, because I'm sure there are some of me floating around and I don't want to start a war. You may remember there are 6 kids, in order of age: Mark, Colleen, Paul, David, Kathleen & Kevin. Hearing it listed like that reminds me of being called for dinner. :) Mom and Dad (Maureen and Al) are both in good health and living in that big house you remember in Ancaster. The house and property itself would look very different to many of you as my Dad's projects have really transformed the place. There are no more big willow trees (and no more treehouse!) :(

In the beginning when we could all fit it one room ...
