The last time I saw Aunt Colleen and Sean Barry

I happened to be home at the time of Aunt Helen's funeral. It was time to go to the airport and head back home.Sean was staying with the Dean's and Ann ,Kieran and I were to stop and give him a lift to the airport since we were on the same flight from Hamilton to Winnipeg where we were to switch planes.Arriving at the Dean's , Kieran (just a baby at that point) wasn't feeling well and had to go the bathroom. We knocked on the front door and Aunt Colleen answered the door.At that point , Kieran threw up at her feet ( or on ,Im not sure), I took Kieran to the bathroom to clean him up and returned downstairs where Colleen had just finished cleaning up .I apologised and Colleen being Colleen , laughed it off, I kissed her goodbye and we were off. That was the last time I saw her.
We flew to Winnipeg and Sean wanted to have a beer and a cigarette before the next flight. He was using a walker at the time , so the two of us made our way to the pub.I went to the bathroom and returned to see Sean sitting at a table with a couple of beers.I sat down , thanked him for ordering me a beer and took my first swig.I quickly realised that the beer I was drinking was not intended for me as Sean Immediately flagged the waitress and reordered his second beer. That was the last time I saw Sean.Sean got on his flight to Edmonton and Ann , Kieran and I got on our flight to Vancouver. We boarded our flight and there on our flight was Rob and Tamara Dean who had just flown from Toronto.I still see Rob ,Tamara and family regularly as they have been my link to family as are my brother Fred and his wife Patti and Brian and Maureen Piggot and until recently , Uncle John .This blog has been great for me to catch up and hear what everyone has been up to and I hope those of you who havent joined in would do so.Thanks to all who have and for Pat for instigating this.

This story is growing legs.In my original story I mistakenly mentioned Caitlin being on the plane with Rob and Tamara on the flight from Winnipeg, she was not even born at that point.Rob commented in the sarcastic Ford manor that we have all come to know that Caitlin a couple years younger than Kieran and he would introduce me to her when we next met.I quickly edited my story removing Caitlin's name and then made the above comment.I then recieved the following email from Rob
Man I need new eyes,

I read through the blog twice and came out with you seeing Caitlin with Tamara and I on the plane to Vancouver.

I read it again tonight without any kiddies or distractions and there was no mention of Caitlin being at the airport.

So Thumbalina needs to get new somethings..glasses, eyes ,enviroment to read.

Sorry about the screw up.

Kevin,
You know the last time I saw Aunt Colleen (what a lovely name) was at my mothers funeral as well. She had Maureen and I over for Fettucini Alfredo one night before we left. It was a great visit! Funny you should mention Sean staying there. Sean told me many times that he was so glad to have had that time with aunt Colleen before she passed away. Sean felt very close to her after that visit. She certainly was a wonderful person. Hugs and kisses to all of you!

Bochsler Family Update

Last week I tried to "encourage" my family to post to this blog. I sent them all TERRIBLE pictures of themselves and threatened to post them here if they didn't post their own. Although they all responded soon enough to my threat, nobody has updated this blog yet. To be fair, this sort of thing is easier for me to do so I'll give a general update on the family. I won't post those nasty pictures just yet, because I'm sure there are some of me floating around and I don't want to start a war. You may remember there are 6 kids, in order of age: Mark, Colleen, Paul, David, Kathleen & Kevin. Hearing it listed like that reminds me of being called for dinner. :) Mom and Dad (Maureen and Al) are both in good health and living in that big house you remember in Ancaster. The house and property itself would look very different to many of you as my Dad's projects have really transformed the place. There are no more big willow trees (and no more treehouse!) :(

In the beginning when we could all fit it one room ...
